Day 8 Lewis & Clark State Park, WA to Cathlamet, WA (Cathlamet Elochoman Slough Marina)

Today was another great day for a bike ride. It started with a great hot breakfast at the bunk house that we stayed in last night. It was cooler in the morning than previous days but warmed up by late morning. We all wore extra layers, and I brought my rain gear just in case and fortunately I didn’t need it.
We had a 61-mile day and rode on back roads through beautiful countryside covered with forest and through some farmland. The roads were quite with little traffic. We rode along several rivers and on a paved bike path away from the highway. The scenery was amazing!!
The last 40 miles was on a busy highway with fast moving cars and with little shoulder. Most cars gave us plenty of room while passing. There were a few hills to climb, and I managed to climb all of them without having to walk.
Tonight, we are camping at the Cathlamet Elochoman Slough Marina right along the water. Tomorrow, we say goodbye to Washington and hello to Oregon.
