Day 4 Deception Pass Campground, WA to Port Townsend, WA (Fort Worden Historical State Park)
Today’s miles: 30
Miles to date: 112
Days left to ride: 37
Today was another great day for a bike ride. The weather was about perfect for ridding, cool in the morning warming up a bit later in the day with mostly an overcast sky. We had a short 30 mile ride and a Ferry crossing to Port Townsend. Today I road with Scott and Mac for the full ride. We started on a busy highway for a short time and then turned off onto quieter roads. We road through some very nice farm land and ocean front properties with some very nice houses. We stopped in the small town of Coupeville where we had coffee and lunch. We also meet up with most of the rest of our group and road to the Ferry together. We had about a 30 min Ferry ride to Port Townsend were we road a few more miles to our campsite at Fort Worden Historical State Park. Through out the day we had some short but challenging hills to climb. I had to walk several sections that got over %9 - %10 grades. Some up the grades were over %13 or so.
Tomorrow we have a tough 73 mile ride to Belfair, WA
